Executive Biographies
George F. Meyer, Founder
Leaving Ohio in 1948, in search of a better climate for his family, George Meyer stopped in Phoenix and discovered a void. He saw a real need for a company capable of producing the fine woodwork that George had learned to craft as an apprentice in Europe. He continued to grow and expand the business until he retired in 1985.
W.R. "Bud" Lundahl, President
Joining George Meyer in 1957, Bud Lundahl has enabled Meyer and Lundahl Manufacturing to remain on the leading edge in the specialty finishing arena. Through Bud’s involvement in the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) he has helped the firm move successfully into the 21st century. He first served as an AWI Board Member in 1963 then as President in 1973. In addition he participated in, and chaired committees for, market development, membership, computerization, and future planning. Drawing from this extensive experience Bud has been able to incorporate ideas and methods from all over America that assist in the firm’s ongoing growth and ability to help clients meet the most unusual challenges.
Matt Lundahl, Chief Operating Officer
Matt Lundahl grew up learning the trade of cabinet making from the master craftsmen in the shop, all the while witnessing his family’s business grow into a leader in the architectural woodwork manufacturing field. After high school, and three years in Hawaii where he honed his skills as a finish carpenter and an estimator for a small general contractor, Matt returned home to the family business and continued his education in construction management at Arizona State University. He has worked in all facets of the business: cabinet making, machine operator, drafting, installation, scheduling, project management, and senior management. Matt has continued to grow the business into one of the premier specialty contractors in the southwest, taking on some of the largest and most challenging construction projects in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Matt has also been heavily involved in the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) throughout his career, sitting on numerous committees, presenting estimating and project management seminars over the last ten years, and currently sitting on the board of directors.
